NEW DELHI: At least 18 people were injured on Thursday in a grenade attack by suspected terrorists at the crowded general bus stand in the heart of Jammu, a senior police officer said. "It was a grenade explosion, it has caused injuries to approximately 18 people, all shifted to hospital," IGP Jammu, MK Sinha said. "I request everybody to maintain calm," Sinha told reporters at the site of the blast. "We are chasing all leads."
The injured have been taken to the Government Medical College for treatment, reported ANI. The blast took place around 12 pm.
Windscreens of a parked state road transport corporation (SRTC) bus were damaged in the blast, a police official said, adding condition of one of the injured was stated to be "critical".
